An XRP Ledger wallet (also called XRP ledger address or XRP Ledger account) is provided to every new user on GateHub.
An XRP Ledger public address has the following attributes:
- Between 25 and 35 characters in length
- Starts with the character “r”
- Uses alphanumeric characters, excluding the number "0" capital letter "O", capital letter "I", and lowercase letter "l"
- Case-sensitive
Permanence of accounts
Completely deleting an XRP Ledger wallet is possible with the Deletable Account Amendment from May 8, 2020. GateHub will support this option soon.
Until then, deleting an XRP Ledger wallet from your GateHub account will not make the XRP reserve available.
Multiple XRP Ledger wallets
XRP ledger wallet balances cannot be merged. Each active XRP Ledger wallet must hold at least 10 XRP.
More information about XRP Ledger addresses is available here.
Ownership of an XRP Ledger wallet
Creating and funding an account does not give you any special privileges over that account. Whoever has the secret key corresponding to the account's address has full control over the account and all XRP and other funds it contains.
For some addresses, it is possible that no one has the secret key, in which case the account is a black hole and the funds are lost forever.
Note that GateHub and GateHub employees do not have access to your account credentials and XRP Ledger wallet secret keys.
GateHub cannot recover a lost XRP Ledger wallet secret key.
To connect or import an existing XRP Ledger wallet to GateHub?
GateHub allows owners of existing XRP Ledger wallets to import the wallet by using its corresponding secret key. Instructions on XRP Ledger wallet import are available here.
