PayID is like an email address for your payments. You can use PayID to receive and send funds at GateHub.
Set your PayID
You can set a custom PayID for receiving XRP payments, that is linked to your Primary wallet.
- Go to “WALLET” on the left menu.
- Click the "Deposit / Receive" button on the bottom of the screen.
- Select PayID.
- Enter your custom PayID name.
- Click "Create".
Your PayID will be saved and it can be used to receive XRP to your Primary wallet. If you change your Primary wallet, your PayID destination address will change automatically.
Your PayID must be at least 2 characters and not more than 64 characters long. We allow Latin letters, numbers, “.” and “-”.
Use your PayID
You can share your PayID with anyone. A PayID can be used with GateHub or any other service that supports it to send XRP to your Primary wallet.
See the full list of companies who use PayID here.
How does it work?
A PayID is a human-readable identifier for all payments. One PayID can represent your address on any network. At GateHub your PayID represents an XRPL address.
In the future, you will be able to add other addresses like BTC, ETH and even your bank account to your PayID.
This means that you will no longer need to share addresses for individual networks and currencies, but only share one easy to pronounce address for all your payments.
When a payment is made to a PayID, the server needs to return an eligible address (for example, a Bitcoin address for a BTC payment). If no eligible address is found with the PayID, the server will return a notification that the payment channel is not available.
